Melcare's Optimel Manuka Eye Drops help stabilise the surface health of the eye from dry eye symptoms such as sore, irritated eyes and eyelids. They are designed to be used AS WELL AS with lubricating eye drops, not as an alternative.

Optimel Manuka Eye Drops assist the surface health of the eye by creating a micro-environment that supports healing and prevents further damage. When applied to the surface of the eye, Optimel Manuka Eye Drops lower the acid level (pH), acting on bacteria that may potentially damage the surface of the eye.

Reduced tear production and meibomian gland disease can increase the bacteria present in the eye, contributing to the tear film instability and eye surface damage. Using Optimel Manuka Eye Drops 3 times a day can significantly improve the situation within a month.

PLEASE NOTE: stinging after installing Optimel Manuka Eye Drops is to be expected but should be short-lived. Mild redness can occur too.

  • Single patient use only
  • Serious conditions should be managed under the supervision of an eye care professional.
  • For any reaction other than transient stinging and redness, cease use and contact your eye care professional.
  • DO NOT use if you have a history of hypersensitivity or sensitivity to honey, food gums or benzoate preservatives without seeking medical advice.
  • DO NOT insert whilst wearing contact lenses. Wait at least 30 minutes before inserting lenses.
  • Use by children aged less than 12 years should be on the advice of an eye care specialist or doctor.
  • Replace cap after use.

The preservative used in Optimel Manuka Eye Drops is benzoic acid which is a widely used food preservative rapidly metabolised by the liver and found at naturally high levels in honey from bees of the Leptospermum species. It has been chosen as the preferred preservative because of its long history of use, natural presence in honey and its effectiveness.

Very easy to use site, plus I have had to call them on a couple of occasions for advice and they have been absolutely brilliant...even putting me through to an ophthalmologist on one occasion.
These eye drops are amazing for dry eyes!!!
They ate the best eye drops that I have used against dry eyes.
Would be better if letterbox friendly packaging was used for small items. Would help with delivery as Royal mail delivery office is far from where I live.
prompt service thanks!
Excellent at helping me to manage my bletharitis
The eye drops have been beneficial!
Seems to work
The manuka honey eye drops have already improved my son's eye chalazion by 85% and we've only been using it about a week. Amazing stuff.
Great for helping with redness and inflammation
Could not live without this product! Thanks so much for providing it at a great reasonable price!
Very good product. The only thing that works on my dry eye.
After trying most every option available for moderate to severe dry eyes, I find that the Manuka Honey Eye Drops helps the most. The only downside, is the burning sensation when the drops are first put in.
They work very well.
yes it does sting a lot...but as a Sjogrens sufferer I feel it helps more than other products
My order arrived quickly, and at a reasonable price.
I've had blepharitis for 2 years and read that people were treated with the drops. I've been trying the drops for a few days ... it's burning a lot and my eyes are swelling ... they're reacting with worsening. I will continue to use the drops to see if it gets better.
Despite the agony when putting drops in my eye (good job I was warned), I really feel that these drops have done more to ease my blepharitis than the usual products.
