Yes you read this correctly, we are now stocking a new range of EAR drops. As a pharmacist, I was at a recent ear health training event for Pharmacy First and discovered that one of my ears was blocked. A colleague was practising using an otoscope on me and could not see my ear drum at all. I had a feeling my hearing was affected, as the TV volume increasing and subtitles became essential for me.
I’ve never had a problem with ear wax but it can build up (particularly as we age of course) causing a waxy discharge and deafness. Other symptoms include, ringing or buzzing in the ears, dizziness and a feeling of blocked ears.
It is best not to poke the ears or use cotton buds to try and clear the wax away as you can actually push it further into the ear canal. Wearing ear buds as headphones for a long time can block the natural process that removes wax from the ears.
You must consult a pharmacist or doctor for an ear examination if you have a temperature, pain or discharge that could be an ear infection. Most clear up on their own after 3 days but if the ear area is swollen or the ear drum is perforated or inflamed, you may need antibiotics.
The Cl-ear range has 4 options:
-
Cl-ear Olive Oil Drops
A gentle olive oil drop for softening a mild wax build up. A natural drop that can also be applied regularly, every week, to prevent the build up of hard wax.
-
Cl-ear Olive Oil Spray
An easy-to-use ear spray if squeezing a dropper bottle is difficult to manage.
-
Cl-ear Ear Relief Drops
These drops have a dual action with lidocaine for pain relief and glycerol to soothe inflammation, itching and remove trapped water from the ear canal.
-
Cl-ear Express
A urea hydrogen peroxide drop and glycerol (like Otex) that releases bubbles to quickly break up and soften hardened wax. These hardened waxy deposits can be resistant to softening and need to be treated three to four times a day for up to 2 weeks.
You can save 10% today by purchasing 4 or more products across the Cl-ear range, ensuring your ears remain clean and clear.
