Bought this item a few weeks ago on my ophthalmologist recommendation. Took a while to save up as it’s so expensive. Product is easy to use, very straight forward instructions. I did think it might have produced a hotter heat within the mask so was a little disappointed on my first few goes at it. After speaking to my opthal she pointed out it was set to 42 degrees which is not that far off of body temperature (37/38) so it shouldn’t be ‘hot’. She says not to compare with a microwave mask as most people generally put the mask in for too long & then the eyes get irritated. It’s all about continued use at a set temperature. I’m using it twice a day & am now just in a routine with it. My glands have not opened up yet all but I am continuing with this regime. It feels ok when the mask is on, nothing dramatic, easy enough to adjust the strap too. Not to happy about buying bottled water to use with this but at £350 for it I’m not taking any chances!

I suffer from dry sensitive eyes and my late dad had the original Blephasteam eye goggles with the rings you put in each use and he found it extremely beneficial for his dry eyes. This current version is a disappointment to me personally as the price is very high and I can’t see much, if any, improvement.

It does heat up, but every time you use it you have to charge it, after use you have to charge it again, your actually charhing the device longer than actually using it, if it held charge then it would be so much easier and practical to use. If you haven't used it for a few days it takes even longer to charge. I thought it was a device that you charge it full and can use spontaneously atleast a couple of times before there no life in. I think if you live a busy lifestyle it's not really ideal, prefer to grab a eye mask bag chuck it in the microwave and get the heat compress going if I'm being honest. For the price not really worth it.

We will pass your comments on to the manufacturer, there is bit of forward planning involved with charging and pre-heating before every use.
They have suggested, if you use it regularly, to leave it on charge so it is ready for use.
I hope this information is useful. - SSShelley S.Verified BuyerHow old are you? 50-59What eye health issues do you have? I had high hopes for this Blephasteam mask due to the expensive price tag. I have tried just about everything on the market for dry eyes and blepharitis. It's certainly very soothing and more hygienic than a normal heating eye mask but after a few weeks of using i haven't noticed a dramatic change yet. I use it twice a day for 10 minutes and don't feel that it gets quite hot enough for much eye oil to be expressed but maybe it's just me. It's easy to use and good that you can walk around when it's on. I'm hoping things will improve over time.

So the machine takes a bit of set up but once it’s in situ it’s quite easy to operate. Quite why it’s so expensive I don’t know as it doesn’t seem to be employing rocket science but it’s easier than warm compresses and you can see whilst you’re using it.
