Blinkjoy Hydrating sleep mask 3

I have to admit, when I first opened the package, I wasn’t convinced this mask would be comfortable. The chambers didn’t look quite big enough, and given the price, I was a little disappointed.

However, having tried it, I was pleasantly surprised by just how comfortable it actually is.

What really stood out to me was the seal. As you position the mask, you can actually feel it creating a seal, with a slight pressure sound as it fits snugly into place. It’s reassuring to feel it sealing properly rather than just sitting against your face.

The mask is extremely soft and lightweight, blocks out all light completely and, most importantly, stays in place throughout the night. I slept comfortably without waking up to reposition it, which is something I’ve become very used to with my previous mask.

By morning, it was still in place, and the chambers had retained a noticeable amount of warmth. It felt almost like a gently heated mask, which could be a real benefit for anyone using it to help manage MGD.

Overall, my initial doubts have completely disappeared. I honestly didn’t expect an eye mask to be this comfortable, and the secure seal, warmth and ability to stay in place all night have really impressed me.

I have used the mask for 2 nights, so cannot give a long term review, but will give my first impressions:

Overall I find it to be more comfortable than moisture chamber goggles with a similar level of effectiveness.

(To get a good seal with any moisture chambers is a struggle for me, though the Quartz is probably the best seal I have found for my face shape - it seemed to fog up and seal well, but I still struggled through the night - I cannot critique the function of the goggles themselves though.)

My best bet long term balancing comfort and hydration has been a regular sleep mask with hollowed areas around the eye area (Myhalos sleep mask - it looks very similar to the ocufresh 3d mask on this store, which I haven't yet tried).

The Blinkjoy Hydrating Sleep Mask 3 follows the same principle, but with removable silicone eye-cups tailored to creating a moisture chamber.

The mask is slightly bulky at the back (though feels durable), so I've found it easier going around the top of my ears rather than behind them as I would usually choose, which is slightly awkward (my ears are quite high compared to some though).

The option to move the eyecup holders via a velcro adhesion to adjust to face shape is brilliant, and whilst I still can't get a perfect seal, I cannot flaw the design principle.

My main concern is that the 2 eye cups feel very thin and flimsy, so I can imagine needing spares or replacements in the future which I cannot currently source, and wouldn't want to…
