DemEx is an effective foaming cleanser designed to improve general eye lid and lash hygiene which contains 4-terpineol (T4O) the active extract from tea-tree oil.

Developed by a UK based optometrist, DemEx consists of a synergistic blend of a number of plant-origin ingredients developed to be specifically effective against both:

  • Demodex Folliculorum (Blepharitis/lash follicle)
  • Demodex Brevis (Meibomian gland) conditions

This foaming cleanser contains the active ingredient, T40 (4-terpineol) which is derived from tea tree oil and is most effective against Demodex.

Massaged gently in by clean fingers, the DemEx cleanser removes harmful micro-organisms from the eyelids, the lash follicles, and eyebrows. It is then rinsed off.

With a pleasant, cool sensation DemEx has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties meaning that it can also be used as a soothing anti-bacterial face wash. .

    seems to do the job well

    After being diagnosed with Demodex I ordered this and treated my eyelids and eyebrows. It arrived quickly, sensibly packed, with usage instructions. I found it easy to apply, it stings slightly for me, but washes away easily with no after effects. And after 10 days I can see a definite improvement.

    Unsure as yet. I note it does not contain tee tree oil which is rumoured to inhibit Demodex mite. Also it stings a bit. So we await response after several weeks of use.

    I just wanted to clarify that DemEx foaming cleanser contains 4-terpineol.
    This is derived from tea tree oil and is most effective against Demodex.

    4-terpineol is the active extract from tea-tree oil, developed to be specifically effective against both:

    • Demodex Folliculorum (Blepharitis/lash follicle)
    • Demodex Brevis (Meibomian gland) conditions

    If it stings even after rinsing, applying it on alternate days until your symptoms settle may help.
    I hope this reassures you and over the coming weeks your blepharitis improves.

    Slight Improvement

    Have had demodex for 6 months, numerous creams etc, but this has been first thing that has started to show slight improvement. Will keep using this product.
