Evolve Silk eye drops
Evolve Silk eye drops help soothe dry, irritated eyes by supporting the repair and recovery of dehydrated or damaged cells on the cornea, the clear, delicate surface at the front of the eye, that is essential for comfortable, clear vision.
Evolve Silk eye drops combine silk proteins with cross-linked carboxymethylcellulose. The silk proteins support the repair of damaged corneal tissue, while the cross-linked carboxymethylcellulose forms a hydrogel that helps deliver the silk proteins to the surface of the eye.
Silk proteins have a long history of medicinal use and are now recognised as a helpful environment for cell and tissue regeneration. They can absorb water up to 30% of their weight. Silk is made up mainly of two glycoproteins: fibroin and sericin. Fibroin is a linear protein that runs parallel to the fibre, while sericin is a globular protein that holds fibroin molecules together and also provides lubrication. Sericin’s amino acid profile is similar to the natural moisturising factor found in skin.
Evolve Silk eye drops are typically used twice a day, but they can be used more often, or as advised by your healthcare professional.
It is a preservative-free, multi-dose eye drop designed to support the body’s physical repair processes of corneal cells.
Good for:
- Supporting the physical repair of corneal cells after damage or eye surgery.
- Helping relieve the symptoms of dry eye syndrome.
Evolve Silk eye drops can also be used by children.
