This is the mildest mascara in the range, hypo-allergenic and free from known irritants such as nickel, chrome and parabens. If you have very sore eyes or lids, try this mascara first.

As well as being paraben-free and fragrance-free, this gentle mascara is rich in vitamins A, B & E and gives a discreet, natural makeup finish.

Its special brush smoothes lashes and deposits just the right amount of mascara to intensify the eyes.

All the hypo-allergenic Eye Care Cosmetics mascaras are ultra-micronised to avoid risk of irritation and all packs, brushes (guaranteed nickel-free) and applicators sterilised before packing, to guarantee maximum safety during usage. Particularly suitable for contact lens wearers.

    Don’t like the smell

    I was very excited to try this mascara after not being able to wear any for a long time due to blepharitis. It went on very thinly, which was fine, but the smell is not nice and actually felt irritating. Almost like a bad fat smell is the only way I can describe it. Is this smell normal for this range?

    Thank you for purchasing a Gentle Mascara from one of our optical stockists.
    There is a balance to be made between excluding irritating ingredients that add perfume and hold to a mascara.
    If you are moving from traditional cosmetics, the earthy smell does take a bit of getting used to, as most mascaras are highly perfumed.

    A minimal amount of allergen-free perfume is used in some Eye Care Cosmetics (the compositions/ingredients used do not contain any of the declarable allergens according to the 7th amendment to the European Cosmetics Directive of 2003).

    Luckily we have a range of mascaras that improve in hold and performance, if your eyes can tolerate them. You have chosen the mildest option first which is sensible.
    The next one up is the High Tolerance then the Volumising one is the one I wear now my eyes have settled down. I find it gives great volume, lift and colour.

    At last!

    At last a mascara I can wear without any eye irritation at all. Really pleased I came across this on Instagram and took a chance. After more than 10 years trying and giving up on mascara, I’m able to add the finishing touch to my barely there make up!

    I am sorry to read the mascara dried out.

    May I ask, did the brush appear dry and did the mascara continue to apply well to the lashes?
    The reason I ask is the manufacturers have investigated this and reported that any excess is cleaned off the brush.

    Of course, you can return it for us to take a look, I have sent you an email.
    We order fresh stock monthly and store them in a temperature-controlled environment but one may have slipped through.
