Designed and made in the UK by an ophthalmologist to help with dry eye and blepharitis, it gently warms the eyelids and can be reheated 200 times.

The Blepha EyeBag (formally MGDRx® EyeBag®) is a patented, CE marked Class 1 medical device registered with the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). It was devised by a UK ophthalmologist to help his dry eye patients.

The Blepha EyeBag is a silk and suedex device which can be re-heated up to 200 times in a microwave. Simply heat for 30 or 40 seconds on full power and the Blepha EyeBag will stay warm for up to 10 minutes.

Conditions which usually benefit from regular twice daily Blepha EyeBag treatment are:

  • Meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD)
  • Blepharitis
  • Dry eye syndrome
  • Styes
  • Eyelid cysts (Meibomian cysts know as chalazion, pronounced Ka-lazy-on)
  • Contact lens dry eye
  • Corneal laser dry eye
  • Seborrhoeic dermatitis
  • Rosacea

Symptoms which are relieved by Blepha EyeBag treatment are:

Eyelid warming using the Blepha EyeBag is often used at the same time as artificial tears and dry eye gels and ointments. If you are a contact lens wearer you should discuss your situation with your contact lens practitioner who will advise you how best to use your Blepha EyeBag.

    Much quicker & easier than the hot flannel method.

    I have only recently been diagnosed with MGD, so this is a recent purchase, but it is soothing to use so far. I haven’t owned it long enough to see the long-term benefits yet.

    I like the choice of two fabrics (one on either side of the mask) which give different temperatures.

    I have now had 3 of these eyebags. They help unclog my eyes in the glands that secrete moisture which has thickened.

    Butterflies always act very efficiently and check the eyebag is correct and in good condition.

    I have been using the eye bag for almost a month as recommended by the eye specialist and I do find it very good. I use it morning and evening for 10 minutes and than massage my eyes with the Blephaclean wipes. The specialist says it is as important to do this as using all the various drops and ointments for my severe dry eyes.
