Hycosan Extra has been formulated with 0.2% hyaluronic acid (twice the concentration of Hycosan). This increase in strength gives a solution which is four times more viscous than Hycosan, but still causes minimal blurring of vision. This increase in viscosity, which allows a subsequent increase in duration of action, makes Hycosan Extra ideal for more severe cases of dry eye.

    Works great for me.

    Diagnosed with severe dry eye about 2 years ago. In addition to daily use of prescription drops and serum tears, I have tried many over the counter preservative free drops. Heard about Hycosan in a dry eye forum and decided to give it a try. Hycosan Extra has become my go to drop, using it to get my eyes open first thing in the morning, then every to 2 to 3 hours. Hycosan doesn't cause me immediate irritation like the other drops I've tried. Unfortunately it is not sold in the US so I order from Butterflies. Have tried a similarly formulated products both from the US and Europe, but Hycosan is the only one that doesn't worsen my symptoms .
