HydraMed Night eye ointment
Hydramed Night is a lubricating ointment ideal for use at night to help relieve the symptoms of dry eyes.
Hydramed Night combines liquid paraffin, white soft paraffin and lanoline with vitamin A, chamomile and calendula for enhanced comfort and the thicker nature of the product means that it can often protect the eye throughout the whole night.
Vitamin A is part of the natural tear film and as such is very well tolerated as a lubricant. Vitamin A is required for the normal growth, maintenance and maturation of corneal cells and is therefore effective as a treatment when applied topically.

I’m sure it’s good if you get on with this stuff, but I found it doesn’t come out of the tube in a way that makes getting it into the eye easily.:
- How do I know if I’ve squeezed out half an inch (or whatever they suggest) when it’s 2 inches from my eye and I have no chance of focussing on it at that distance?
- It’s gluey stuff, so it doesn’t drop when you stop squeezing the tube, so you end up dangling a worm of gloop above your eye wondering how to get it from the tube onto your eyeball.
- Like all pastes, it doesn’t flow evenly - so as it comes out of the tube it curls around so when it does eventually drop it doesn’t sit nicely in your eye, but is instead a small pebble which takes ages to become comfortable.
If you can get past all of this then you will at least wake up with fresher eyes (and a small clean up operation).

Thank you so much for your recent order and reviews.
They will be helpful to potential purchasers.
As a pharmacist and from previously applying eye ointments myself, I completely understand the frustration of a getting a curled-up ball into the eye.
The usual application advice is to gently pull down the lower eyelid and squeeze a line of ointment into the pouch created.
I find even the smallest amount of pressure on the tube can also lead to an unstoppable stream of ointment.
Popping the tube in the fridge for a few minutes might help in the current warm weather. - RCRichard C. P.Verified BuyerI recommend this productHow old are you? 70-79Who recommended these products to you? Eye clinic (ophthalmologist, nurse, support worker...)Rated 5 out of 5 stars1 year agoEye care
