Murine hayfever eye drops are for the relief and treatment of the eye symptoms of hayfever. It works by reducing the body's response to the hayfever allergy when used regularly during the course of the treatment.

Allergies like hayfever occur when your body's natural defences overreact to a normally harmless substance such as pollen and cause irritation - often watery, itchy or puffy eyes. Common allergens (substances which cause an allergy) include tree, flower and grass pollens, but also mould and fungal spores, dust mites and flakes of animal skin, hair and feathers.

When pollen interacts with the cells in your eyes it causes a chemical reaction and histamine is released triggering the symptoms of an allergy: sore, itchy, watery or puffy eyes and often sneezing and a runny or blocked nose and sinuses.
