Xailin Ectoine eye drops
Xailin Ectoine eye drops prevent and support the treatment of symptoms of both seasonal (hayfever) and year-round eye allergies. They soothe irritation, have a moisturising effect and support the regeneration of the
protective barrier of the eye surface.
Xailin Ectoine should be used in case of eye irritation, burning, redness, watering and soreness caused by allergens, i.e. pollen, dust mites, animal hair or mould.
Thanks to the unique combination of four active substances (ectoine, sodium hyaluronate, fucoidan and Perilla frutescens extract), the eye drops both intensely moisturise and quickly soothe these troublesome symptoms.
- Sodium hyaluronate - a naturally occurring lubricant in the human body, including the eye, is commonly known as a highly moisturising substance. The ‘stickiness’ of hyaluronic acid ensures better hold to the eye surface, which contributes to faster healing of the cornea, and thanks to the visco-elasticity, it increases the stability of the tears, which are washed out much slower during blinking.
- Ectoine - a natural substance produced by micro-organisms. Ectoine has water binding, moisture absorption and protective properties, thanks to which it moisturises the surface of eye surface cells and stabilises their cell membranes. Stabilisation of cell membranes, allows improvement of their barrier function and may reduce allergen-membrane interactions and alleviate symptoms caused by inflammation.
- Fucoidan – is marine and naturally part of the cell membranes of brown algae, sea cucumbers and sea urchins. It is thanks to Fucoidan that the seaweed does not dry out during low tide and does not die under the hot sun. The mucus with which they are covered also provides protection against the harmful effects of external factors. Fucoidan is known to be used as a moisturising, hydrogel forming and humectant ingredient.
- Perilla frutescens - is a plant that has a number of properties – from moisturising to soothing allergy symptoms. Research has shown that extracts of Perilla frutescens contain high levels of rosmarinic acid, which is anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic. Clinical studies suggest that it can significantly alleviate symptoms of seasonal allergies.

With tree pollen levels rising, thank you for purchasing Xailin Ectoine.
The manufacturer's recommended dose is one drop inserted three times a day, you can apply more often if needed.
The new style Novelia dropper bottles are being adopted by eye drop manufacturers to improve drop size accuracy and reduce microbial contamination.Here is a 3 minute Novelia video;

It explains why they are doing this, a cross-section of what’s going on inside the bottle and a lady demonstrating how she inserts the drops. I found this helpful as they do take a bit of getting used to without a nozzle!
